| My Name is Jimmie! | |
|
Southern rocker Jimmie Van Zant will be performing live here in Buffalo at Club Paradise on Friday February 13, 2009 at 7pm! A few tickets are available: $10 Pre-Sale or $15 at the Door.
Maybe it’s the hot Florida sunshine, the white lightning moonshine of the Van Zant family D.N.A., but when Jimmie Van Zant takes center stage, you can feel the energy run through your veins like a fever that you can’t break.
Just like Johnny, Donnie or the late great Ronnie Van Zant of Lynyrd Skynyrd, you just know that if Jimmie is singing’, preaching’ and laying’ down the law, Southern Rock Music is alive and well. Southern rock is the staple of today’s country music and many are looking for what Jimmie has naturally. God has blessed Jimmie with vocals and great talent.
Now with a band that is tighter than a pickle jar, the Van Zant band is playing like they are on a mission. Make sure you get to a show and feel the energy they will give you the moment they come on stage. Hang on to your hat and lets take a ride with Jimmie Van Zant and his band.
Jimmie was born in Jacksonville, Florida - a city known mostly in the music circles as “the home of southern rock royalty.” Jimmies father, E.C. Van Zant and Ronnie, Donnie and Johnny’s father, Lacy Van Zant, are brothers, linking this famous family together. Jimmie recalls his mother having an upright piano at home where she spent countless hours playing gospel tunes. Jimmie began taking piano and guitar lessons back at age 6. Later, as he grew up in his teen years, he watched and listened to Ronnie Van Zant and the boys rehearse in his own living room, becoming amazed, mesmerized and drawn to their musical perfection. At this time, this musical paring was known as “One Percent” but would later evolve into the legendary Lynryd Skynyrd band.
Throughout his later teen years, Jimmie was sidetracked from the music and took an interest in fast cars, professional bowling tournaments and ot Click Here For The Rest.
