The Kansas City steak and the twin filet mignons were cooked to perfection, the salad was fresh and the specialty drink, wine & craft beer menus contained a wide selection.

Of course the bar & dining room were busy with late night revelers, celebrating a great Sabres comeback win. Buffalobarfly enjoyed a delicious meal at Shadow Lounge.  For starters we had cheese fondue with tatar tots and a BBQ meatball flatbread paired with a vodka martini!  Main courses included seafood alfredo and pork loin chops!  The chilean wine, Terranoble Chardonnay, was a perfect match with the delicious entrees!

The Soul Providers performed a great show at Shadow Lounge.  The crowd couldn't stay off the dance floor listening to this classic soul and R&B sound! Valentine's Day-themed dinner at Shadow Lounge restaurant & bar on Hertel. Our special Valentine's menu started with the "Fire & Ice" panko crusted blue crab claw cakes with Shadow's chilled cayenne-mint Fire & Ice sauce and the "Seductive Caesar" - chilled crisp FRESH romaine tossed with homemade ceasar dressing, house croutons, romano cheese & served with a strip of crispy bacon dipped in dark chocolate!

The entrees names were equally as entertaining & delicious: "Kinky Kiev" (a chicken Kiev dish) consisting of panko encrusted chicken breast stuffed with herb & garlic compound butter. And the aptly named "Love my Loins Tenderly" grilled beef tenderloin, rubbed with espresso seasoning, topped with a Godiva Chocolate demi-glaze.

And, for dessert: "Tease me for 2" - Frangelica hot cocoa topped with bourbon gelato & served with biscotti.

At Shadow Lounge, you'll find dishes that are creative, flavorful & satisfying with the most attentive service in an intimate setting. And the biggest shocker will be the bill. Executive Chef Christopher Andres at Shadow Lounge Restaurant prepares unique & flavorful dishes that are hearty enough for Buffalonians at a surprisingly reasonable price. We started our meal with Chef Andres' take on the Buffalo chicken wing, Ocean City Wings - whole fried chicken wings, dry rubbed & drizzled with honey (this is the best appetizer we've had in a long time-highly recommended). We also shared a Walnut & Goat Cheese Salad with fresh oranges, strawberrys & creamy raspberry vinaigrette. The daily & weekly specials at Shadow Lounge are always a treat. From the specials menu, we tried the Handmade Gnocchi with tomato basil-roasted garlic sauce topped with diced chicken, wilted greens & mozzarella. And, if you love pasta & seafood, try the Seafood Alfredo, a reach & creamy concoction with shrimp, scallops & clams with a cajun cream sauce.

And, check out the awesome desserts, definitely not your usual boxed pie. This week's dessert: Belgian Chocolate Pate, just the right amount of sweet & creamy chocolate, perfect with one of Shadow Lounge's specialty coffee drinks to finish your meal.

Every Friday evening, Shadow Lounge features live jazz at 5:30pm with Jim Bohm & Dave Calire. The patio is still open and we found Jim & Dave performing outside last week. We also enjoyed a few selections from the all new Shadow Lounge dinner menu by Executive Chef Christopher Andres. Shadow serves a delicious flatbread pizza. Ask your server for the daily selection. The Shadow fish fry is quite different from most of the area's typical beer battered varieties (many of which are delicious). At Shadow Lounge, the fish fry is a panko encrusted haddock served with potato and mesclun greens wrapped in English cucumber, topped with roma tomatoes, red onion and honey balsamic vinaigrette. If you're a meat eater, you'll enjoy one of the better cuts of beef you'll find at these prices, a 12 oz bone-in Kansas City strip steak served with tabacco fried onions & topped with Montreal steak butter, served with potato & vegetable. Ask your server for Chef Andres daily dessert selections, which are always very fresh. The atmosphere at Shadow is classy enough for a date or special occasion, but not stuffy. And the prices are the best you'll find for such quality & great service. Later in the evening, Shadow Lounge features a full band on Friday & Saturday night at 10pm. And the drink & martini menu will have something to please everyone.

Recently, we stopped in for an awesome dinner. Starting out with the Spicy Shrimp Saute, jumbo shrimp with peppers, onions, and lime served with Chipotle Garlic Bread. Next came the Buffalo Shrimp Salad with Buffalo style shrimp, baby greens, julienne vegetables, bleu cheese dressing - a salad big enough for two or as a meal in itself. The entrees included the day's special of Pan Seared Salmon as well as a Baked Cod with tomato, rosemary & lemon available daily on the regular menu. The desserts at Shadow change on a regular basis. This time, we were treated to a Mexican Brownie Sundae with ancho chile chocolate gelato - a spicy twist on the usual - with what can only be described as an aftertaste of "fireball" candy.
