The party was hoppin' at the 2007 Buffalo Music Awards that took place Thursday, December 6th at Coyotes Night Club and Rock N Roll heaven. The evening started out with the VIP party where band members had some food and drinks enjoyed a live performance from recording artist Jan Close from NYC, and anticipated the night ahead.
Starting at 8 pm the Michael Bly Band performed on Coyotes stage, singing three original songs along with covers such as "Let's Get It Started" by the Black Eyed Peas. The Michael Bly Band was the winner of last years best beginning band award.
Following their performance awards were given out on the Rock N Roll Heaven stage. The best festival award was given to Concert on the Canal. Anchor Bar took home best jazz-R&B club and Shadow Lounge took home best Lounge. Individual drummer awards included R&B drummer Robert Hernandez, Blues drummer Rob Lynch, Rock drummer Pat Brayman, Pop Rock drummer David Green, and Original drummer George Tutuska.
Next, the Boys of Summer took the stage singing covers such as "Glory Days" by Bruce Springsteing. This band has been together for 17 years and is still going strong taking home numerous awards.
Back on the Rock N Roll Heaven stage best Dance Club award went to Club W. Individual keyboard awards went to, R&B keyboardist Eric Crittenden, Blues Keyboardist J.J. Muscato, and Rock keyboardist Bruce Stecker. Best bassist awards went to R&B bassist Jerry Sampson, Blues Bassist Tom Reinhart, Original Bassist Mike Morrisey, Pop Rock bassist Steve Edmonds, and Rock Bassist Bob Mayjack.
When McCarthyzim took the stage around 9:30, they wowed the audience with their unique sound when a trumpet, tenor sax, and violin joined the two guitarist, bass, and drummer.
Individual awards where given to Blues Sax player Jack Ribeliski, Best Horn Section went to The Hit Men Horns, and Best Instrumental went to David Moore. Individual guitarist went to R&B guitarist Jeff Nixon, Blues guitarist M Click Here For The Rest.
