Breakerbox almost left Mohawk Place in rubble after completely bringing down the house Friday night. Breakerbox, as the band is currently, has been together for approximately four months. However, when listening to the music it would be easy to assume they've been together for four years. Christina DeNee is the band's lead vocalist. The band also features Scott Calandra on drums. Recently joining the group, Zuri Appleby on bass and Joe Pinnavaia on guitar complete what some might call an All-Star lineup. Even technical difficulties were no match for the bands ability to entertain, as Christina managed to get the crowd fired up even when the music stopped. The band sounds better live than many sound on recording, and their talent is so star like they belong in a constellation. Their dedication to putting on a good show provides evidence that rock is alive and well.

Mohawk Place, located at 47 E Mohawk street in Buffalo, hosts a variety of local bands and is a great venue to grab a mic an get on stage, or to enjoy a night of mind blowing live music. The bar is more than big enough to support its sold out shows and there's plenty of room to rock out in front of the stage in the show room. Mohawk Place is the perfect place to enjoy Buffalo's underground rock scene.

Mohawk Place hosted the Arctic Death CD release party.  Ambassadors, Crush the Everlasting, Nelson Type and Red Beard played as well!  It was a successful event as many fans came out to support their favorite bands!

Here Come The Comets is a Buffalo, NY based indie band that formed in the studio in 2006 while creating their debut album, Falling Anvils:Love Songs for the Doomed and Secretly Happy. They can best be described as a blend of space rock, meets alt county, meets 70's boogie woogie rock. Melodic, layered, quiet yet loud, soft yet chaotic. Songwriting inspired by some of the great story tellers of years past. After its release in 2008, the album gained critical acclaim from music critic Jeff Miers of the Buffalo News and the band was awarded best band and local album by SPREE magazine. Recently, the band released their follow up EP, That Good Ol' Fashioned Sin Vol. 1, at their November 12th performance at the Burchfield Penny Art Center. The work was recorded and produced by the band in Jeff Schaller's home studio, The Big Stewdio, with Son of the Sun brainchild Joseph Stocker.
