Celebrate Winter in Buffalo February 27-28, downtown Buffalo will be transformed into a festive winter celebration. Coinciding with the Pond Hockey Tournament, the festival will feature a variety of family-friendly events and promises to become an exciting annual tradition. It's the stuff of winter dreams, for adults and kids alike: Gathering with friends and family to enjoy hot food and refreshments, ice skating, broom ball, snowshoeing, carriage rides, and the polar bear swim; and unique and offbeat attractions like the World's Largest Ice Maze, igloo building, a snowshoveling contest, and snow tubing down the Skyway Seneca Street ramp. Start the day off with a pancake breakfast the Pearl Street Grill & Brewery! An all-you-can-eat breakfast including pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage links, coffee and milk. Adults $9, children under nine $6. Saturday and Sunday from 8am - noon. What a way to start off a day of winter games and outdoor activities! Best of Buffalo Vendors Market 11am to 5 pm both days during the festival The Vendors Market will be on the 3rd and 4th floors of the Pearl Street Grill & Brewery, providing festival attendees a place to escape the cold, and to check out local artisans and products. A market booth costs only $150 per vendor for the weekend. In an attempt to make sure that large and small scale vendors and artisans can participate, we have done our best to keep the cost down. We have a few spaces left, and would love to fill them ASAP!! Please contact Julie Padak at 716-465-5427 Festival activities will take place in and around the southern end of downtown Buffalo, including the plaza surrounding HSBC Tower, multiple levels of the Pearl Street Grill and Brewery, neighboring parking lots, and various sites within the encompassing street grid, which will be closed to traffic during the festival. We recommend taking the Metro Rail to benefit the environment, minimize traffic downtown, and relieve available parking. The weekend of February 27th and 28th, 2010. Saturday hours: 8am - midnight. Sunday hours: 8am - 5pm. Food tent opens 11am both days. The festival is free and open to the public, welcoming families and groups of all sizes. Some activities do require purchase or registration. |
